22nd February 1885, PIONEER, 17 yrs old, registered Banff, wooden schooner, 86 tons, 4 crew. Master and Owner J. Smith, Portsoy, Banffshire. Departed W. Hartlepool for Cullen, Banffshire, carrying coal and cement. Two lives lost. Wind SSW7. Sinclair [Sinclair's] Bay, Caithness.
