A radio station with three masts has been identified from a wartime oblique aerial photograph (WIC 455, 35, flown 13 July 1942) situated to the SE of Castletown in an area annotated 'Tansfield' on the 1:10560 scale OS map (1970). One building is shown at this location on the historical 1970 and current OS digital maps.

A photographic survey of the building was carried out in 2013 as part of a planning application which, if carried out, would have resulted in its demolition. <2>
