15 December 1874, MARGARET, 29 yrs old, of Glasgow, smack, 39 tons, 2 crew, departed Glasgow for Fort William, carrying coal, stranded, partial loss, 2 lives lost, wind NE4, Sallachan Point, near Corran Light.

Fort William, 18th Dec., 3.55 p.m., the MARGARET (smack) was wrecked opposite Ballachulish on the 15th Dec.: crew drowned. The body of the master was recovered and buried today. Full salvage has been effected.
