NLO: Sound of Mull [name centred NM 58 46].

Tobermory, 26th July. 'The ASTORIA, of Kinloch, from Liverpool to Wick, is ashore in the Sound of Mull, and must discharge part of cargo to get off.'

The map sheet assigned to this record is arbitrary and the loss may have taken place on the SW (Mull) side of the Sounds, within the quasi-administrative area defined as Maritime - Argyll and Bute.
The loss of this vessel is not cited by I G Whittaker (1998), suggesting that she was refloated.
