Tobermory, 6th Apl. The MARY MACKENZIE (schnr.), of Stornoway, from Larne, with shell lime, struck on a rock at the entrance to the Sound of Mull 31st Mar., and immediately after took fire, and has become a total wreck.

The map sheet assigned to this record is essentially arbitrary. The available accounts are confused to the point of being contradictory, particularly as regarding location and classification. The loss may have occurred within the quasi-administrative area defined as Maritime - Argyll and Bute.
