Full Description

Steading within curtilage of Balmacaan House, Old Manse House.

The building was photographed as part of a character appraisal of Cawdor Conservation Area in 2015. <1>

This building is largely hidden from public view. It is behind Balmacaan House with a high wall to NE and a dense hedge to NW and SW. Currently becoming derelict, the area is becoming overgrown.

Construction is of natural rubble stone with tooled rubble dressings and lime ponting. The roof is traditonal scottish slate with a leaded ridgeline and hip ended. The roof is currently showing signs of wear with some missing tiles.
