Full Description

NG24SW 2 244 410.

At NG 244 410, 750 feet OD on a terrace on an east-facing slope there is a group of 7 ruined shielings. (visible on RAF air photographs CPE/Scot/UK/175: 1129-30)
While the two northernmost ones are reduced to a scatter of boulders within a low mound, the others show their two-cell construction in dry stone walling with entrance on the downhill side.
Visited by OS (A S P) 12 May 1961.

Previously recorded at grid ref. NG 244 410, updated and corrected with information from Orbost Estate Survey (1998), M Wildgoose. Site no. 54, eight shielings were recorded.
