Full Description

NMRS Report: (02/06/2004)
NH43SW 54 4476 3225

This hut-circle stands at the W edge of a group of small cairns in heather moorland above the NE bank of an unnamed tributary of the Allt a' Bhaile Uachdaraich. It is situated on the leading edge of a level terrace, which falls away steeply S towards the burn, and the ground has been built up on the S to provide a level interior. Oval on plan, it measures 11.4m from NW to SE by 9.1m transversely within a stony bank 2.1m thick and 0.5m high, and the entrance is on the SE. The small cairns, which measure up to 6m in diameter, lie to the N and E of the hut-circle, scattered over an area measuring about 120m from N to S by 70m transversely on the terrace and down the slope below it. A shooting butt stands amongst the cairns, about 30m NE of the hut-circle.
