Full Description

NMRS Report: (25/06/2004)
NH53SW 55 52678 32059

This heather and grass-grown burnt mound is situated to the NW of an unnamed tributary of the Drumbuie Burn. C-shaped on plan, it measures 5.1m from E to W by 4.3m transversely and 0.4m in height. The open side of the mound faces N towards an old stream course, and a small hollow between the arms of the mound possibly marks the location of a trough. A sod was lifted on the date of visit, revealing that the mound is composed of cracked stones set in a matrix of black soil and flecks of charcoal.
