12 February 1883, AZALEA, 6 yrs old, of North Shields, Lloyd's 100 A.1., last survey 2.83, iron S.S., 1,188 tons, 22 crew, Master J. Adams, Owner J. Robinson, North Shields, departed The Tyne for Boston, U.S.A., carrying coal, deck-house and lifeboat damaged etc., 1 life lost, wind S7, partial loss, off Duncansby Head, Caithness-shire.
