1 February 1884, MRS. SMITH, 12 yrs old, not registered, wooden lugger, 12 tons, 6 crew, Master and Owner A. Bremner, Pulteney, Caithness, departed Wick for fishing, in ballast, struck by heavy sea, 1 life lost, wind ENE7, partial loss, 1 mile N. of Bruan Kirk, Caithness.
