NLO: Inverness [name: NH 665 455].
Inverness, 1 January, the ESSEX (barque), when lightening outside the [Caledonian] canal, this morning, dragged her anchor and grounded astern: she lies stern on, three feet aground, low water, but is likely to get off on the afternoon's tide.
