Dunnet Bay [name centred ND 198 704]
Pentland Firth [name centred ND 35 81].
Scrabster, 14th Sept., a lifebuoy, marked 'MARANHAM, Newcastle', was found amongst the rocks near Castletown, last week.

The map sheet assigned to this loss is arbitrary, being derived from the reported location of discovery of wreckage. The vessel may have foundered in the Pentland Firth (possibly within the quasi-administrative area designated as Maritime - Orkney) or offshore (possibly beyond Scottish waters).
The loss of this vessel is not cited by I G Whittaker (1998).
