Wick, 8th Feb., the EMILIE, Pedersen, from Mandal, which was stranded here, 3rd Feb., has been brought into harbour, waterlogged.
Source: Shipping Intelligence, LL, No. 18,350, London, Tuesday February 11 [1873].
NMRS, MS/829/69 (no. 3936).
The cited location of stranding ('under the lee of the breakwater') suggests that this vessel was wrecked at or near the harbour entrance, rather than within the harbour itself. The loss of this vessel is not cited by I G Whittaker (1998), possibly suggesting that she was successfully recovered.
