Full Description

NMRS Report: (16/08/2007 15:56:24)
NG80NW 8002 unlocated

NLO: Loch Hourn [name centred NG 83 08].

Possibly on map sheets NG71SE, NG81SW, NG80NE or NG90NW.

Glasgow, 26th Oct., the AGNES of this port, with 40 barrels of herrings on board, went ashore at Loch Hourn during the recent gale and had one side crushed in.
Source: Shipping Intelligence, LL, No. 18,882, London, Wednesday October [26 1874].
NMRS, MS/829/70 (no. 4175).

The map sheet assigned to this record is essentially arbitrary.
The loss of this vessel is not cited by I G Whittaker (1998), presumably suggesting her successful recovery.
Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 21 September 2004.
