Source: Shipping Intelligence, LL, No. 19,541, London, Saturday December 9 [1876].
NMRS, MS/829/70 (no. 4475).

(No classification or cargo specified: date of loss cited as December 1876). Matilde: nameboard and wreckage washed ashore between Latheronwheel and Lybster.
(Location of loss cited as N58 17.0 W3 20.0).
I G Whittaker 1998.

The map sheet and quasi-administrative area assigned to this record are arbitrary, being derived from the recorded location of discovery of wreckage. The vessel presumably foundered out at sea, probably beyond Scottish waters.
