Glasgow, 23rd Dec., a good deal of wreckage has been washed ashore along the coast at Wick. At Creswick [Freswick] the sterns of two ships' boats were picked up, on one of which was the name "HILDA", and on the other the letters "PRES-------". A number of battens were also picked up at the same places.

NMRS, MS/829/70 (no. 4526).

The map sheet assigned to this record is arbitrary, being derived from the reported location of discovery of wreckage. The vessel presumably foundered out at sea, possibly beyond Scottish waters.
This loss of this vessel is not cited by I G Whittaker (1998).
Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 7 October 2004.
