ND35SE 8085 c. 376 506
N58 26.4 W3 4.1

NLO: Wick Bay [name centred ND 376 506].

Wick, 16th Jan., a large quantity of wreckage came ashore in this bay and neighbourhood on the 14th Jan., at the North side of the bay. What appeared to be the maindeck of a vessel, with mainboom, cabin fittings, battens, &c. were picked up in the course of the day, but there was nothing to indicate the name of the vessel to which they belonged.

NMRS, MS/829/70 (no. 4592).

The location, map sheet and quasi-administrative area assigned to this record are essentially tentative, being derived from the reported location of discovery of wreckage. The vessel presumably foundered and broke up out at sea, possibly beyond Scottish waters.
The loss of this vessel is not cited by I G Whittaker (1998).
Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 21 October 2004.
