Full Description
NMRS Report: (21/10/2004)
ND35SE 8086 unlocated
NLO: Wick [name: ND 362 508]
Wick Bay [name centred ND 376 506].
Wick, 17th Jan., a letter has been received from Vlaardingen stating that the PRINS VAN ORANJE, Groeneveld, of that port, sailed for the cod fishery on 1st Dec., last, and has not since been heard of. The nameboard, bearing the same name, which was found at Brough (Wick) a short time since, is thought to have been from the same vessel.

NMRS, MS/829/70 (no. 4597).
The map sheet and quasi-administrative area assigned to this record are essentially arbitrary, being derived from the reported location of discovery of wreckage. The vessel presumably foundered out at sea, possibly beyond Scottish waters.
The loss of this vessel is not cited by I G Whittaker (1998).
Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 21 October 2004.
