Portmahomack (near Cromarty), March 25 [1881], 10.33 p.m., SISTERS, after losing both anchors, drove ashore here last night, during a gale, and is making water: fear cargo must be discharged. [The above vessel is bound from the Cromarty Firth to the Tyne or Forth district].

General, SISTERS, from Cromarty Firth for the Forth or Tyne district, ashore at Portmahomack. A telegram received morning of 26th inst., from Invergordon stated that a competent person was in charge of this case. He was getting vessel lightened. Damage was thought not to be considerable. [Record received incomplete].

The loss of this vessel is not cited by I G Whittaker (1998); she was possibly successfully recovered.
