This disused gravel-pit is situated immediately E of the Lybster to Watten public road, some 115m W of the Loch of Camster. Roughly oval on plan, the pit measures 8.5m from NE to SW by 6.5m transversely and up to 1.4m in depth. A scatter of stony debris lies on the floor of the pit, which is depicted on the 2nd edition of the OS 6-inch map (Caithness 1877, sheet xxix).
