ND34SW 203 33282 44330
This disused quarry has been dug into the NE-face of a low rise in an uncultivated field 325m WSW of Gansclet farmsteading. It comprises a number of conjoined grass- and gorse-grown pits and spoil-heaps occupying an area measuring about 28m from NE to SW by a maximum of 22m transversely overall. The deepest of the pits is up to 1.6m in depth, and the quarry has been used as a dump for field-cleared stones and boulders. The quarry is not depicted on either the 1st or 2nd edition of the OS 6-inch map (Caithness 1877, sheet xxix; 1907, sheet xxix).
