This disused quarry, which is situated in a field of rough pasture about 115m N of Lineside farmsteading (ND34SW 439), is crossed from NW to SE by a post-and-wire fence, in the deepest part surmounting a low drystone wall. The quarry measures 23m from NE to SW by 15m transversely and a little over 1m in depth, and a small amount of field-clearance has been tipped in on the W. The quarry is not depicted on either the 1st or 2nd edition of the OS 6-inch map (Caithness 1877, sheet xxix; 1907, sheet xxix).
