This disused sandstone quarry is situated in heather moorland about 55m W of the ruins of the farmsteading ND34SW 294. Irregular on plan, it measures about 20m from NE to SW by up to 6m transversely and it has been dug into the slope on the NW to a depth of about 1m. The interior is water-logged and choked with rushes. The quarry is not depicted on either the 1st or 2nd edition of the OS 6-inch map (Caithness 1877, sheet xxix; 1907, sheet xxix).
