This disused quarry is situated immediately E of the Thrumster to Mains of Ulbster public road, some 455m NNE of Mains of Ulbster farmsteading (ND34SW 304). Roughly oval on plan, it measures 17m from NNE to SSW by 7m transversely and it has been dug into the WNW face of a low rise to a depth of 1.6m. Small areas of living rock are visible in the interior. The quarry is not depicted on either the 1st or 2nd edition of the OS 6-inch map (Caithness 1877, sheet xxix; 1907, sheet xxix).
