This disused quarry is situated immediately W of the Thrumster to Mains of Ulbster public road, some 550m NNE of Mains of Ulbster farmsteading (ND34SW 304). Roughly oval on plan but with a straight SE side, it measures 11m from NE to SW by 4m transversely and has been dug into the E-facing flank of a low rise to a depth of 0.7m. A small exposure of rock is visible on the N side of the interior, which also contains some field-cleared stones.
