This disused roadside quarry, which is situated at the E end of a field of rough pasture 70m S of the modern house at Blackstobbs, measures about 37m from NE to SW by up to 15m transversely and up to 2m in depth. The rock-face forming the rear of the quarry is largely free of vegetation, but the rest is grass-grown. Some field-cleared stones have been dumped into the S end. The quarry is depicted on 2nd edition of the OS 6-inch map (Caithness 1907, sheet xxix).
