Nothing is visible of what was probably a small farmstead that stood at the edge of what is now a cultivated field opposite the disused Thrumster School. As depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Caithness 1877, sheet xxix), the farmstead appears to have comprised a single roofed range standing on the S side of a garden. The range is not shown on the 2nd edition of the map (1907, sheet xxix).
