This disused quarry is situated immediately E of the farm road to Oliclett, some 270m NE of Blackhill farmsteading (ND34SW 83). Irregular on plan, it measures 40m from N to S by 19m transversely and is at least 3m deep on the E. The interior, which is level with the adjacent track, is part exposed rock and part grass-grown. The quarry is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Caithness 1876, sheet xxix), but it is not shown on the 2nd edition of the map (1907, sheet xxix).
