NMRS Report: (23/05/2006 13:15:24)
ND34SW 417 ND 30257 44263

This disused quarry is situated immediately E of the farm road to Oliclett, some 180m ENE of Blackhill farmsteading (ND34SW 83). Trapezoidal on plan, it measures 14.5m from E to W by 17m transversely across the mouth and 9.5m along the face at the rear and it is at least 5m deep where it has been dug into the slope on the E. The interior, most of which is now level with the adjacent track, has been partly filled in. The quarry is not depicted on either the 1st or 2nd edition of the OS 6-inch map (Caithness 1876, sheet xxix; 1907, sheet xxix), but it is shown on the 1976 edition of the 1:10,000 map.
