NMRS Report: (23/05/2006 13:17:21)
ND34SW 418 ND 30203 44227

This small, disused quarry is situated immediately NW of a disused farm track about 130m ENE of Blackhill farmsteading (ND34SW 83). Roughly oval on plan, it measures 6m from NE to SW by 4m transversely and is at least 2m in depth where it is dug into the slope on the NW. The sides of the quarry are grass-grown, but on the date of visit the rest of the interior was obscured by bracken. The quarry is not depicted on either the 1st or 2nd edition of the OS 6-inch map (Caithness 1877, sheet xxix; 1907, sheet xxix).
