Full Description

In Glen Suardal, 640m E of the road from Dunvegan to Claigan, there is a depopulated run-rig township.
It comprises about 10 ruined houses, many with yards attached, and about an equal number of outbuildings. Two of the houses are in better condition than the remainder, presumably continuing to be occupied after the main desertion.
Visited by OS (A C) 10 May 1961.

A township, comprising five unroofed buildings, one enclosure and a head-dyke is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Inverness-shire, Isle of Skye 1880, sheet xv). Seven unroofed buildings and five enclosures are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10560 map (1968).
Information from RCAHMS (AKK) 15 October 1996.
