Stornaway [Stornoway], 6th Jan. `The ROBERT & JANNET, MacKenzie, from Arisaig for Liverpool, put in here this day to refit, having received damage by the SPRING, Murray, running foul of her. By her arrival we have accounts of several small vessels having received damage about the Sounds, among them is the HARMONY from London to Widewall, stranded at Glenelg, having slipped both cables. A great many logs of pine timber are coming ashore along the West side of Lewis: also some pieces of wreck, which cannot be identified.¿ [Record received incomplete].
NMRS, MS/829/71 (no. 6397).
The loss of this vessel is not cited by I G Whittaker (1998), presumably suggesting her successful recovery.
Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 12 April 2005.
