Full Description

Cairn, Glen Cripesdale; This cairn is situated about 2.2km up Glen Cripesdale, near the point where the road changes to a track leading across the hills to Laudale. It stands on the floor of the valley 25m N of the Glencripesdale Burn and about 6m above it, and will soon be enveloped by the afforestation that has recently taken place. Measuring 15m by 12m and 2m in height, it is already overgrown by trees and grass, but several large stones are visible, particularly on the S side. Some damage has been done to the top of the cairn but the remainder appears to be relatively undisturbed.
RCAHMS 1980, visited 1973.
