Wick, 9th Aug. `The SENATOR, Smith, bound to Quebec, went on shore on the reef of rocks South side of Strona [Stroma], on Thursday morning, but was assisted off the same night, and proceeded to Stromness. Soon after getting off she got in contact with the RHUESTORE, Smith, from Liverpool to this port, when the latter sunk. Crew saved.¿

The location assigned to this record is tentative, and the map sheet accordingly essentially arbitrary.
The loss of this vessel is not cited by I G Whittaker (1998), presumably on account of her successful recovery.
