NLO: Island of Stroma [name: ND 35 77]
Pentland Firth [name centred ND 35 81].

Possibly on map sheet ND37NW or ND38SE.

Island of Stroma, 18th Aug. The PANDORA, of London, Davidson, from Shields to Dublin, struck on this Island on the 16th, but got off this morning, after throwing part of cargo overboard, and with loss of anchor & cable, and proceeded for Scrabster Harbour, not making much water.
Source: The Marine List, LL, No. 11,673, London, Thursday August 21 1851.
NMRS, MS/829/72 (no. 8693).

The loss of this vessel is not cited by I G Whittaker (1998), presumably on account of her successful recovery.
The location assigned to this record is essentially arbitrary.
Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 24 April 2007.
