Full Description

NMRS Report: (14/09/2005)
NG82SW 21 818 235

A walkover survey of c 72ha of mature forest was carried out prior to the start of clear felling. Most of the survey area was on a steep N-facing hillside which supported little archaeology. However, three clearance cairns, a well-preserved sheep fank, a rock shelter with a shell midden of unknown date, and two very degraded stone structures were recorded on the grassy terrace lying between the shore of Loch Alsh and the foot of the hillside.
