Full Description

The North of Scotland Archaeological Society undertook a survey of a previously unrecorded ringed earthwork in achnasoul Wood, near Marybank in 2005. In addition, some 400m to the east a hut circle was found. It was located at the edge of the woods but was still planted with trees. Its overall diameter was 17m, with substantial enclosing banks with a spread of 3-4m. The banks survived to a height of between 0.4 - 0.7m. There was a possible entrance to the southeast. <1>
