Full Description

NMRS Report: (26/09/2005)
NM56SW 21 5207 6326

A low turf bank, 1.2m wide and 0.25m high, was recorded here during a field survey of part of the Ardnamurchan Estate on the N shore of Loch Sunart, North Argyll. It runs NW-SE for 35m from a woodland enclosure wall. This bank, along with other enclosures, creates a field that is featured in a map of 1806-7 and is 8.7 acres in size. It contains rig-and-furrow cultivation which runs NE-SW, and which can still be seen in the northern part of the field. Other parts of the field appear to have rig-and-furrow on a NNW-SSE orientation.
