A series of pits were recorded in this area as part of an archaeological evaluation ahead of a road re-alignment in the area. The first is sub-circular and contains silty sand, bone (including the mandible of a sheep) and fragmentary shells, and measures 0.9m x 0.8m x 0.25m. Another pit was irregular in shape (pear shaped) and filled with silty sand and fragmentary shells, and measured 2m x 1m x 0.2m. A further pit was circular and filled with silty sand over a charcoal-rich base. It measured 0.9m x 0.9m x 0.2m.
