Full Description

NMRS Report: (04/11/2005)
NG53NE 145 5547 3495

The grassed over remains of a corn-drying kiln were recorded here during a field survey of the Suisnish area of Raasay by ACFA, who have conducted surveys on the island every year since 1995. A sub-circular stone-lined bowl, 2m in diameter, lies in grass and a hole in the ground 2m from the E side may have been the flue. On the N side of the bowl is a scooped out area which may be all that remains of a small structure which has once enclosed the kiln.
