A sub-rectangular dry-stone structure was recorded here during a field survey of the Suisnish area of Raasay by ACFA, who have conducted surveys on the island every year since 1995. It lies at the foot of a steep, scree-covered slope. The walls, double-faced with an internal rubble fill, are of varying lengths but give an internal area of around 2.6m x 3m. The walls of the building are 0.6m wide and survive up to 2.1m in height, sloping down to 1.6m at the southern end. The SW wall has been mortared in places around the entrance doorway, which is 1m wide and 1.5m high with a wooden lintel. The lintel appears to be a railway sleeper and the site is close by to a former iron works railway line. The roof is constructed with rough timber joists and slats, overwhich corrugated iron sheets have been placed and weighted down with heavy stones. An area of stone to the SW may be the remains of a larger, earlier structure, from which this building was constructed, or it may be a cart stand.
