Full Description

NMRS Report: (15/11/2005)
NG53SE 38 5658 3435

The remains of a possible long house were recorded here during a field survey of the Suisnish area of Raasay by ACFA, who have conducted surveys on the island every year since 1995. The structure measures 14.7m x 2.8m internally and has drystone walls that have now largely tumbled down. The ends of the building are bowed and there are two entrances, in the E and W walls. An internal wall divideds the interior into two, with the smaller area likely being the byre. a more recent lambing pen appears to have been made from the ruins in one corner.
