Full Description

NMRS Report: (15/11/2005)
NG53SE 42 5781 3477

A rectangular building was recorded here during a field survey of the Suisnish area of Raasay by ACFA, who have conducted surveys on the island every year since 1995. It was built in drystone and measures 6m x 2.8m internally. It appears to stand on the foundations of an earlier building, which was round-ended. The walls survive to aheight of around 0.5m and there is a centrally-placed entrance in the SE wall. There may have been a central dividing wall but no other internal features were noted.
There is a moss-covered circular structure around 10m to the SW, with an internal diameter of around 2m.
