Thurso, 18th Mar. `The sloop DIANA, Brown, of Arbroath, bound to Dundee, and the PROSPEROUS, Robertson, of Stornoway, were driven on shore at Scrabster the same evening: master and two men of the former drowned: crew of the latter saved.'

The location assigned to this record is essentially tentative. Whittaker places the loss 'to the west of Bishop's Castle, Thurso' [presumably Bishop's Castle or Scrabster Castle, Thurso [ND16NW 3, at ND 1068 6915].
