Sections of the Newfoundland Overseas Forestry Unit were recorded during a detailed archaeological survey of Strathmashie Community Forest near Laggan, Highland. The remains date to World war 2, when the Unit was working in the forest. There are remains of horizontal timbers with iron nails protruding. One section crosses over a small stream. The survey was carried out to assess the evidence for past human use and to ascertain whether there was enough archaeology to develop a heritage trail in the forest.
