NMRS Report: (28/11/2005)
NN58NE 31 5605 8831
A drystone cairn was recorded during a detailed archaeological survey of Strathmashie Community Forest near Laggan, Highland. The cairn sits on top of a bedrock outcrop. It measures 0.5m x 0.5m and is around a metre tall. There is a wooden post inserted vertically in the top and protrudes for 0.4m. The survey was carried out to assess the evidence for past human use and to ascertain whether there was enough archaeology to develop a heritage trail in the forest.
