Wick [name: ND 362 508].
Wick, 21st March. The VICTORIA, Maurice, of Aberdeen, from London, missed stays and went on the rocks at the North side of this Bay last night.

(Classified as brig, with cargo of hoops and cutch: date of loss cited as 20 March 1848). Victoria: this vessel stranded at Proudfoot Rocks.
Registration: Aberdeen. Built 1837. 109 tons burthern. Length: 20m. Beam: 5m.
(Location of loss cited as N58 26.5 W3 4.0).

Proudfoot Rocks are not noted as such on the 1998 edition of the OS 1:50,000 map. The name presumably applies to the extensive and prominent rocks around North Head (centred ND 383 507).
