A small circular stone hut situated in a gully, found by T Doe in 2006. <1>

184425 871935 Bad Na Scalaig 1 (Na Doireachan) AMC131: The structure was visited by A MacInnes in 2010 as part of research for a dissertation on hut circles in Wester Ross for A Welti. The circular stone structure lies on the side of a gully beside a stream. It may be too small to be a hut circle. Moss and bracken submerge the stones. There is a large area of bracken to NW, possibly indicating cultivation. Average internal diameter is 2.5m, external diameter is 4.4m. The double skinned wall is 0.9m thick with maximum height 1.1m. The entrance faces east and has external width 1.0m and internal width 0.9m. Passage length is 0.5m. This structure may be associated with AMC132 (see MHG49715), 300m distant. <2> <3>

[Note: a database was set up as part of research for the dissertation and was subsequently expanded as an extension of the We Digs Project (see website link below). The full access database can be made available to enquirers/researchers if requested - contact HER for details].
