This limekiln, which is situated in moorland 520m SE of Lurg farmsteading (NJ01NW 24), comprises a grass-grown mound measuring about 7.3m in overall diameter by 1m in height in which there is a rubble-filled pot about 2.5m in diameter. The pot is open to the SW, and on the NW of the opening there are what appear to be either the remains of a narrow loading ramp.
The kiln is depicted on an estate plan of 1772 (RHP 8901) and annotated `Kiln'; it is not depicted on either the 1st or 2nd edition of the OS 6-inch map (Inverness-shire 1874, sheet LX; 1902, sheet LX).
